Originally from Louisiana, Michael moved to San Francisco the minute he got his Bachelors degree in Business Management from Hardin Simmons University. Proud of his Southern heritage, he celebrates travel, food, family ~ and a deep passion for sports!

With his positive and charming personality, Michael makes new friends wherever he goes, while still managing to keep in touch with his extensive network of industry contacts spanning three decades. Forever the optimist, Michael has a unique ability to work the crowd, facilitate flow, and proactively present solutions before an issue arises.

Michael's very first job in the trade show business was Event Attendant at the Moscone Convention Center, and ever since he has had a passion for all that goes into the "Main Event". Soon after a chance meeting with a convention service company, Michael became their right-hand man in coordinating shipping logistics, installing computer networks, and event information kiosks. This gave Michael his strong working knowledge of every major convention facility including Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Boston, New Orleans, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle ~ and many others.

When a Senior Event Manager position opened up at the Moscone Center / Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Michael became the "main building contact" for world-class domestic and international clients. He played a critical role in orchestrating huge shows for medical associations teaching state-of-the-art life-saving techniques, technological giants such as Apple, Oracle, MicroSoft and Salesforce showing off their latest innovations, and entertainment productions such as the Mayweather-Paquiao boxing match to heavy-metal concerts featuring Pearl Jam and Metallica.

Michael's expertise and love for the hospitality industry grew ~ along with his many experiences that form the foundation of his services today. After 20+ years of managing shows, he was ready to launch his own company and thus, MICHAEL BAKER EVENTS was born! With his unique ability to forge lasting relationships with people from all sorts of diverse cultures and industries, along with the foresight to handle any challenge that comes his way, Michael is the perfect solution to help you plan, coordinate, and/or execute your next event!
